Usages of παίρνω

• Σήμερα δεν περπατάω, γιατί πήρα το λεωφορείο.: Today I am not walking, because I took the bus.
• Παίρνω το μετρό κάθε μέρα.: I take the metro every day.
• Πάρε ομπρέλα αν βρέχει.: Take an umbrella if it’s raining.
• Δεν υπήρχε κανένα μπουκάλι στο ψυγείο, γιατί το είχαμε ήδη πάρει.: There was no bottle in the fridge, because we had already taken it.
• Αν δεν πάρεις λίγη ξεκούραση, το σώμα σου θα πονάει.: If you don’t get some rest, your body will be in pain.
• Πηγαίνουμε στο νησί με το πλοίο, αλλά μετά παίρνουμε το τρένο πίσω.: We go to the island by ship, but later we take the train back.
• Όταν η σειρά είναι βαρετή, παίρνω ένα περιοδικό και διαβάζω.: When the series is boring, I take a magazine and read.
• Όποιος μένει μακριά από το πανεπιστήμιο, παίρνει το τρένο κάθε πρωί.: Whoever lives far from the university takes the train every morning.
• Πηγαίνω στον σταθμό με τα πόδια, αλλά η συναδέλφισσά μου παίρνει πάντα το ασανσέρ.: I go to the station on foot, but my colleague (female) always takes the elevator.

• Η μαμά μου λέει να παίρνω μπουφάν και καπέλο όταν φυσάει.: My mom tells me to take a jacket and a hat when it’s windy.
• Παίρνω πάντα μαζί μου σακίδιο με νερό, σνακ και έναν μικρό φακό.: I always take a backpack with me with water, snacks and a small flashlight.
• Η τσάντα μου σήμερα είναι πολύ βαριά, θα έπρεπε να είχα πάρει την πιο ελαφριά.: My bag today is very heavy; I should have taken the lighter one.
• Παίρνω το τηλεκοντρόλ από το τραπεζάκι και πατάω το κόκκινο κουμπί για να ανοίξει η τηλεόραση.: I take the remote control from the coffee table and press the red button for the TV to turn on.
• Θα πάρουμε το λεωφορείο για το κέντρο, εκτός αν αύριο γίνει απεργία στα μέσα μεταφοράς.: We will take the bus to the center, unless there is a strike on public transport tomorrow.
• Πηγαίνω στο πάρκο χωρίς να πάρω το τηλέφωνό μου.: I go to the park without taking my phone.
• Στη λεωφόρο έχει πάντα κίνηση το απόγευμα, γι’ αυτό προτιμώ να παίρνω το μετρό.: On the avenue there is always traffic in the afternoon, so I prefer to take the metro.
