In het Nederlands maak je de imperatief meestal door alleen de stam van het werkwoord te gebruiken, zoals “Wacht!” of “Kom!”.

In Dutch, you usually form the imperative by using only the stem of the verb, such as “Wacht!” (Wait!) or “Kom!” (Come!).

De politie wacht bij de deur.

The police wait at the door.

On the platform a conductor waits to check our tickets.

Omdat het koud is, wachten we binnen tot we kunnen instappen.

Because it is cold, we wait inside until we can board.
