Questions & Answers about Están escaneando la etiqueta y enviándonosla.
Why is there an accent mark on enviándonosla when enviando doesn't normally have one?
When you attach pronouns to the end of a gerund (words ending in -ando or -iendo), the natural spoken stress of the verb doesn't change. Since we added two extra syllables (nos and la), the word becomes much longer. We have to add a written accent over the 'a' to force the stress to stay right where it originally was in enviando.
Could I put the pronouns nos and la before the conjugated verb instead of attaching them to the gerund?
Grammatically, yes, you could say Nos la están escaneando y enviando, placing the pronouns before the conjugated auxiliary verb están. However, because the pronouns specifically belong to the second action (enviando) and not the first (escaneando), attaching them directly to the end of enviando is much clearer and sounds much more natural in this specific sentence.
Is there a specific rule for why it's -nosla and not -lanos?
Yes. When you use two object pronouns together, the indirect object (who receives the action, nos) must always come before the direct object (the thing being acted upon, la). A popular trick to remember this order is the "people before things" rule.
Why isn't there another están right before enviándonosla?
Just like in English ("They are scanning... and sending..."), you don't need to repeat the auxiliary verb están if the subject is the same and the actions are happening together. The single están carries over to apply to both escaneando and enviando.
