Questions & Answers about La energía, la cual fluye por el cuerpo, es esencial.
Why use la cual instead of just que in this sentence?
You could absolutely use que here! However, la cual is often used in written or formal Spanish for non-defining relative clauses (the extra info set off by commas). It means the exact same thing, but elevates the tone.
Can I drop the la and just say cual fluye...?
No, the definite article (el, la, los, or las) is mandatory when using this relative pronoun. Because it refers back to la energía (a feminine singular noun), you must use the matching phrase la cual.
Why is por used here instead of para?
When talking about physical movement through, along, or around an area or space, you use por. Since the energy is moving through the body (el cuerpo), por is the correct preposition.
Why does the verb fluye have a 'y' in it?
The infinitive is fluir. In the present tense, verbs ending in -uir (like fluir, incluir, or construir) change their spelling to include a y before the ending in all forms except nosotros and vosotros. This keeps the pronunciation smooth.
