Buscar means "to look for" or "to search for." It's a regular -ar verb, but because it ends in -car, the c changes to qu before e to keep the "k" sound intact. Without this change, a form like buscé would be pronounced with an "s" sound instead of "k."
This spelling rule affects the yo form of the preterite and the entire present subjunctive (plus the usted/ustedes imperative).
