Questions & Answers about Özetle, molozu bahçede bıraktıkları yetmiyormuş gibi, her şey tam bir işkence oldu.

How exactly does the grammar pattern for "as if it weren't enough" come together in bıraktıkları yetmiyormuş gibi?

This phrase uses the object participle -dık attached to bırakmak (to leave), plus the third-person plural possessive -ları to mean "their leaving". Then we add yetmiyormuş (it supposedly is not enough) and gibi (like/as). Literally, it translates to "like their leaving (the rubble) was supposedly not sufficing."

Why is moloz in the accusative case (molozu) if it is trapped inside this long "as if" clause?

Even inside a dependent clause, the noun moloz (rubble) acts as the specific direct object of the verb root bırak (leave). Because it refers to the specific rubble they left behind, it still requires the definite accusative suffix -u.

What does the -muş suffix in yetmiyormuş add to the sentence? Why not just use yetmiyor gibi?

The -muş suffix here acts as the narrative or evidential past, giving the phrase a hypothetical flavor. While yetmiyor gibi just means "looks like it isn't enough," adding -muş creates the dramatic, compounded grievance needed for this structure: "as if it supposedly weren't enough."

I noticed it says tam bir işkence rather than bir tam işkence. Why is the word order like this?
