Questions & Answers about Onun riskli ve agresif bir stratejiden yana olduğuna dair şüphelerim var.
How exactly does -den yana work in this sentence?
The postposition yana is used with the ablative case (-DAn) to express being "in favor of" or "on the side of" something. Here, the noun strategy takes the ablative case (stratejiden) to link with yana, meaning "in favor of a strategy".
Why does the word for "his being" take the form olduğuna?
This is a combination of the factive participle -dık and a case marker. We use ol (be) + -duk + -u (his, matching Onun) to make "his being". Then we add the buffer -n- and the dative case -a. The dative case is strictly required by the following postposition, dair (about).
Could I use hakkında instead of dair to mean "about"?
Yes, you could say olduğu hakkında instead of olduğuna dair. Both express "about the fact that he is...". However, dair is slightly more formal and is highly preferred when linking clauses to abstract nouns like doubts (şüphe), claims, or reports. Just remember that dair requires the dative case, while hakkında does not.
As a quick refresher, why is bir placed after the adjectives here?
