Questions & Answers about Kimse bu fenomeni izlemesin, o bile kendi videolarını beğenmiyor!
How does bile work with the pronoun o in this sentence?
Bile means 'even' and comes immediately after the word it emphasizes. Here, it highlights the subject 'he' (o). Because 'he' is the subject doing the action, it stays in the nominative (dictionary) form. If you wanted to say 'He does not like even him', you would use the accusative case on the pronoun: onu bile.
Does fenomen just mean 'phenomenon'?
Originally yes, but in modern Turkish, fenomen is the standard word for an 'internet celebrity' or 'influencer'. Here, it takes the accusative suffix -i (fenomeni) because this specific celebrity is the direct object of the watching action.
Why is the verb izlemesin translated as 'should not watch'?
İzlemesin is the third-person singular negative imperative, literally meaning 'let him/her not watch'. When paired with kimse (nobody), it acts as a strong command to everyone in general. In English, we naturally phrase this as 'nobody should watch'.
Can you break down the suffixes on videolarını?
It breaks down like this: video (root) + -lar (plural) + -ı (third-person possessive, linking to kendi for 'his own') + -n- (buffer letter) + -ı (accusative case, because these specific videos are the direct object of what he doesn't like).
