To talk about "when" an action will happen in the future, attach a possessive suffix to the future participle **-(y)acak** / **-(y)ecek**, followed by the word **zaman** (time). 

The possessive suffix shows *who* will perform the action. Because most possessive suffixes start with a vowel, the final **k** of the future suffix usually softens to **ğ**:

- Verb stem + **-(y)acak** / **-(y)ecek**
- + Possessive suffix 
- + **zaman**

For example, **git-** (to go) + **-ecek** + **-in** (your) = **gideceğin zaman** (when you will go).

### Subject Variations

The **k** softens to **ğ** for most subjects, but it stays a hard **k** for **onlar** (they) because their possessive suffix (**-ları** / **-leri**) begins with a consonant.

- Ben: **-acağım zaman** (when I will...)
- O: **-acağı zaman** (when he/she/it will...)
- Onlar: **-acakları zaman** (when they will...)
