Why is conoces used here instead of sabes for "do you know"?
In Spanish, the verb conocer is used when you are familiar or acquainted with a person, place, or thing. Since the speaker is asking if you know "the designer" (a person), we use conocer. Saber is only used for knowing facts, pieces of information, or knowing how to do something.
Where does the word al come from before diseñador?
