Questions & Answers about Te equivocas a menudo, vuelve a leer el archivo.
How does vuelve a leer mean "read again"?
Why is it vuelve and not vuelves if the sentence is talking to "you" (tú)?
Because this is a command (the imperative). When telling a friend or peer (tú) to do something, you use the affirmative command form. This form drops the final -s from the normal present tense, so vuelves (you return) becomes the command vuelve (return!).
Why is there a Te in Te equivocas? Can't I just say Equivocas?
To say "to make a mistake" or "to be wrong," Spanish uses the reflexive verb equivocarse. The Te is the reflexive pronoun for tú, showing that you are the one making the error. If you drop the pronoun, the verb equivocar means to confuse someone or something else.
Is a menudo a set phrase? What does it literally mean?
A menudo is a fixed expression that translates to "often." The word menudo by itself usually means "small" or "slight," but you shouldn't translate it literally here. Whenever you see a menudo together, it simply means "frequently" or "often."
