Doing things again with volver a

To say you are doing something again or redoing a task, use the verb volver + a + an infinitive.

The teacher corrects the exam again.
El profesor vuelve a corregir el examen.
I am going to print these files again.
Voy a volver a imprimir estos archivos.

Giving commands

Volver is a stem-changing verb (o to ue). You'll often hear the informal command vuelve a when someone wants you to fix a mistake.

You have a mistake, read this text again.
Tienes un error, vuelve a leer este texto.
Print the instructions again, please.
Vuelve a imprimir las instrucciones, por favor.

Pronouns with volver a

When the action involves an object pronoun like lo (it), you can attach it directly to the end of the infinitive.

I do not want to fail the exam, I am going to try again.
No quiero reprobar el examen, voy a volver a intentarlo.
The exam is difficult, but we are going to try again.
El examen es difícil, pero vamos a volver a intentarlo.
