In Spanish, saber (here conjugated as sé) is used for knowing facts or having skills, like knowing how to swim. Conocer (here as conozco) is used for being familiar with people, places, or things. Since you are talking about being familiar with a fun place, you switch to conocer.

The English translation says "know how to", but I don't see words for "how to" in the Spanish sentence. Why?

When you want to say you know how to do a skill in Spanish, you just use a form of saber followed directly by the unconjugated action verb (the infinitive). So, sé nadar literally translates to "I know to swim." You never need extra words for "how to" when talking about learned skills.

Why are the "I" forms sé and conozco? Shouldn't they follow the regular rules?

Both saber and conocer have irregular yo (I) forms in the present tense. Saber becomes sé (don't forget the accent mark, otherwise se means something else entirely!), and conocer becomes conozco. Fortunately, the other forms for these verbs follow the regular rules you already know, like sabes or conocemos.
