Usages of lǎoshī

 shì 老师lǎoshī manǐ shì lǎoshī ma?
Are you a teacher?
  shì 老师lǎoshīwǒ bú shì lǎoshī.
I am not a teacher.

Note how (falling tone) changes it's pronunciation to (rising tone) when followed by a falling tone.

zhè  rén  shì 老师lǎoshīzhè gè rén bú shì lǎoshī.
This person is not a teacher.
zhè  老师lǎoshī zài jiāzhè gè lǎoshī zài jiā.
This teacher is at home.
  老师lǎoshī 今天jīntiān tài máng lenà gè lǎoshī jīntiān tài máng le.
That teacher is too busy today.
刚才Gāngcái 老师lǎoshī gěi   le 邮件yóujiàn,  kàn le maGāngcái lǎoshī gěi wǒ fā le yóujiàn, nǐ kàn le ma?

老师lǎoshī xiān shuō 语法yǔfǎ, 然后ránhòu ràng 我们wǒmen xiě 句子jùzilǎoshī xiān shuō yǔfǎ, ránhòu ràng wǒmen xiě jùzi.
The teacher first explains the grammar, then lets us write sentences.
