Why does les come before jeter instead of after it like in English?
In French, direct object pronouns like les (them) usually go directly before the verb they belong to. When a sentence has a conjugated verb (vais) and an infinitive verb (jeter), the pronoun goes right before the infinitive. So, 'I am going to throw them' becomes je vais les jeter.
Does les change depending on the gender of the clothes?
No. While singular direct object pronouns change based on gender (le for masculine, la for feminine), the plural pronoun les (them) is used for all plural objects, regardless of whether they are masculine or feminine.
Why is there an 's' on the end of sales?
