Why do we use the subjunctive verb nakonid here instead of the regular present tense?
The phrase dar surati ke (in case / provided that) sets up a condition. In Farsi, the action that might or might not happen in a conditional clause must be in the subjunctive mood. Because the condition here is negative, we use the negative subjunctive nakonid.
