Questions & Answers about Maak het bedrag meteen over, en we sturen geen aanmaning.
How does this sentence relate to the lesson about anders if the word isn't used here?
This sentence shows the positive outcome of a condition using en (and). If you wanted to express the negative consequence, you would use anders (otherwise): Maak het bedrag meteen over, anders sturen we een aanmaning (Transfer the amount immediately, otherwise we will send a reminder). Both structures use a command followed by a coordinating word to express an if-then scenario.
Why is over placed at the very end of the first clause?
The verb used here is the separable verb overmaken (to transfer money). Because the first clause is an imperative (a command), the main part of the verb (maak) goes at the front, and the separable prefix (over) is pushed to the end of its clause.
After en, why is the word order we sturen instead of the verb going to the end?
The word en is a coordinating conjunction, which means it links two independent main clauses. Just like with anders or maar, the word order in the clause following en remains a standard main clause (subject + verb), so it stays we sturen rather than pushing the verb to the end.
Can I use aanmaning for any kind of reminder?
