The verb valer means "to be worth" or "to cost". It has an irregular yo form (valgo) and an irregular future/conditional stem (valdr-), following the same pattern as tener, poner, and salir. Everything else is regular.
Valer is commonly used to talk about the price or value of something, but it also appears in very common idiomatic phrases such as no vale la pena ("it's not worth it") and the Mexican expression vale.
