Adding que after sí makes the statement much more emphatic. While sí tiene just means 'it does have,' sí que tiene translates more like 'it sure does have' or 'it really has.' You use it when the amount of scrap metal exceeds your expectations, or when you want to strongly agree with someone's observation.
