Questions & Answers about Tal vez compartimos el mismo signo.
Why are we using the regular present tense for compartimos after tal vez?
While expressions of doubt can sometimes require a different verb mood (the subjunctive, which you will learn later), tal vez, quizás, and a lo mejor are frequently used with the regular present tense. We do this to express a strong possibility or make a guess about a fact right now.
Is compartimos in the present or past tense here?
Here it is the present tense (we share). For regular -ir verbs like compartir, the nosotros (we) form is exactly the same in both the present tense and the simple past tense (preterite). You have to use context to tell them apart! Since we are making a guess about a current situation, it is the present tense.
Why does mismo come before signo? I thought Spanish adjectives go after the noun.
Can signo mean a physical street sign?
