Questions & Answers about Si la aplicación es falsa, no pongas tu contraseña.
Why is it no pongas instead of "no pones" or "no pon"?
To tell someone not to do something (the negative command), you can't just use the normal present tense. For negative tú commands, you start with the "yo" form of the present tense (pongo), drop the "o", and add the "opposite" ending. Since poner is an "-er" verb, you add the "-ar" ending -as, giving you no pongas.
Doesn't poner usually mean "to put"? Why is it translated as "enter" here?
Why is there no accent mark on Si at the beginning of the sentence?
In Spanish, si without an accent mark means "if", which fits perfectly here ("If the app is fake..."). When it has an accent mark (sí), it means "yes".
Is aplicación the right word for a phone app, or just a job application?
