Questions & Answers about Oggi vado al museo con Anna.
The dictionary says to go is andare, so why does this sentence use vado?
Andare (to go) is a highly irregular verb. Instead of keeping a normal stem and adding an ending, the I form changes completely to vado. You just have to memorize this form!
The translation says I am going, but doesn't vado just mean I go?
It means both! In Italian, the simple present tense covers both general habits (I go) and actions happening right now (I am going). You don't need a separate verb form to say you are doing something right now.
Why do we say al museo instead of just a il museo?
