Why do vian and voĉon both end in -n?
Because vian voĉon is the direct object of ŝatas.
In Esperanto, the direct object usually takes -n. Adjectives agree with the nouns they describe, so:
- via voĉo = your voice
- vian voĉon = your voice (as the object)
So in Mi ŝatas vian voĉon, the thing being liked is your voice, which is why both words get -n.
Why is it via in the dictionary, but vian here?
Via is the basic form meaning your. It changes to vian because it describes a noun that is in the accusative.
Compare:
