Nous mettons le nouveau paragraphe ici.

Questions & Answers about Nous mettons le nouveau paragraphe ici.

Why does mettons have a double 't'?
For the irregular verb mettre (to put), the singular forms drop the second 't' (je mets, tu mets, il/elle met). But in the plural forms, the double 't' comes back! So we say nous mettons, vous mettez, and ils/elles mettent.
Why does the adjective nouveau come before the noun paragraphe?
Most French adjectives go after the noun, but nouveau (new) is a common exception. It belongs to a special group of adjectives describing Beauty, Age, Goodness, and Size (often called the BANGS adjectives) that almost always come before the noun they describe.
Paragraphe ends in an 'e', so why does it use the masculine article le?
Although many French words ending in 'e' are feminine, there are plenty of exceptions. Words that come from ancient Greek, like le paragraphe, le problème, and le système, are usually masculine despite the 'e' at the end. You just have to memorize them as masculine!
Besides putting something in a text, how else can I use mettre?
Mettre is incredibly versatile! At this level, one of the most important ways you'll use it is to mean "to put on" clothing (like nous mettons un manteau - we put on a coat). It can also mean to turn on a device, like a TV or radio.
