Questions & Answers about Montrons notre projet au client.
Why does montrons mean "let's show" if there is no word for "let" or "us"?
If I wanted to tell one friend to "Show our project", how would the verb change?
You would use the tu form of the imperative command. For regular -er verbs like montrer, you take the normal tu form (tu montres) and drop both the tu and the final s. So it would become: Montre notre projet au client.
Since "we" are multiple people, why do we use notre instead of nos for "our"?
In French, words for "our", "my", "your", etc., must match the thing being owned, not the owners! Even though "we" refers to multiple people, there is only one project. Because projet is singular, we use notre. If there were multiple projects, you would use nos (nos projets).
