Why do we use "avez" in this sentence?
Avez is the form of the verb avoir (to have) that goes with vous (you). This is the present tense form, so vous avez means "you have". Remember that vous can be used when talking to multiple people, or to one person in a formal setting.
Why does "grande" come before "cuisine" instead of after it?
In French, most adjectives come after the noun. However, there is a short list of common adjectives that come before the noun. A helpful trick is the acronym "BAGS", which stands for Beauty, Age, Goodness, and Size. Since grande (large) describes size, it goes before the noun cuisine.
Doesn't "elle" mean "she"? Why is it used for a kitchen?
Elle usually means "she", but French doesn't have a neutral word for "it" like English does. Instead, all objects are either masculine or feminine. Because cuisine is a feminine noun (notice the une), you must use the feminine pronoun elle to say "it".
Does the adjective "pratique" have an extra "e" because "cuisine" is feminine?
Actually, no! The base masculine form of the word pratique already ends in an "e". In French, when an adjective naturally ends in an "e" in its masculine form, it stays exactly the same in the feminine form.
