Is the word که strictly necessary in the phrase هر چه که بخواهی?

In spoken Farsi, the که is very often dropped, shortening the phrase to هر چه بخواهی. However, keeping it is perfectly correct and helps clearly link the word چه to the dependent clause that follows.

The English translation says 'we will buy', but می‌خریم is the present tense. Why not use the formal future tense?
