No Matter Who
To express that a situation will happen regardless of who is involved, Farsi uses the phrase هر کس هم که (no matter who).
Because this introduces a hypothetical or indefinite condition, the verb in this clause must always be in the Present Subjunctive.
Notice in the following examples how the verb inside the "no matter who" clause takes the subjunctive form, while the main action uses standard indicative or imperative forms.
| No matter who you are, you must wear warm clothes to ski. | هر کس هم که باشید، برای اسکی کردن باید لباس گرم بپوشید.har kas ham ke bâshid, barâye eski kardan bâyad lebâs-e garm bepushid. |
| No matter who comes to the slope today, they must buy a ticket. | هر کس هم که امروز به پیست بیاید، باید بلیت بخرد.har kas ham ke emrooz be pist biâyad, bâyad belit bekharad. |
No Matter How Much
When the outcome depends on a degree or amount, use هر چقدر هم که (no matter how much). The grammar rule remains exactly the same: follow it with the present subjunctive.
Let's look at how this works when discussing conditions on the ski slope (پیست).
| No matter how much it snows, it is necessary that they clean the slope. | هر چقدر هم که برف ببارد، ضروری است که پیست را تمیز کنند.har cheqadr ham ke barf bebârad, zaruri ast ke pist râ tamiz konand. |
This rule applies seamlessly to other scenarios on the mountain, such as waiting for the cable car (تلهکابین).
| No matter how crowded the cable car is, I will wait. | هر چقدر هم که تلهکابین شلوغ باشد، من صبر میکنم.har cheqadr ham ke telekâbin shologh bâshad, man sabr mikonam. |
No Matter What You Do
To say "no matter what" in the context of an action (literally: "no matter what work"), use the phrase هر کاری هم که.
| No matter what you do in the mountains, you must never stay alone. | هر کاری هم که در کوهستان بکنید، هرگز نباید تنها بمانید.har kâri ham ke dar kuhestân bekonid, hargez nabâyad tanhâ bemânid. |
| No matter what you do on this slope, do not forget the safety rules. | هر کاری هم که در این پیست بکنید، قوانین ایمنی را فراموش نکنید.har kâri ham ke dar in pist bekonid, qavânin-e imeni râ farâmush nakonid. |
Skill and Safety on the Slopes
Whether you are a beginner (مبتدی) or highly skilled (ماهر), winter sports come with risks. To talk about mountain safety, you will need the word for carelessness (بیاحتیاطی) and the verb to prevent (جلوگیری کردن).
| No matter how skilled you are, carelessness on this slope is dangerous. | هر چقدر هم که ماهر باشید، بیاحتیاطی در این پیست خطرناک است.har cheqadr ham ke mâher bâshid, bi-ehtiyâti dar in pist khatarnâk ast. |
| No matter what you do, you cannot prevent this accident. | هر کاری هم که بکنید، نمیتوانید از این حادثه جلوگیری کنید.har kâri ham ke bekonid, nemitavânid az in hâdese jelogiri konid. |
Whenever you talk about these extreme conditions, remember that taking precautions is vital (حیاتی).
| No matter who skis, a safety helmet is vital. | هر کس هم که اسکی کند، کلاه ایمنی حیاتی است.har kas ham ke eski konad, kolâh-e imeni hayâti ast. |
| No matter who skis, they must prevent carelessness. | هر کس هم که اسکی کند، باید از بیاحتیاطی جلوگیری کند.har kas ham ke eski konad, bâyad az bi-ehtiyâti jelogiri konad. |
