Learn Dutch: Word niet boos als de vorm mislukt. - Don't get angry if the shape fails.

Because als (if) is a subordinating conjunction. In Dutch, subordinating conjunctions push the conjugated verb (here, mislukt) to the end of their clause. This follows the exact same word order rule you are practicing with zoals.

The lesson focuses on zoals (as/like). What role is als playing here?

Here, als means "if", setting up a condition. While zoals usually means "as" or "like" to show the manner in which something happens, both are subordinating conjunctions. That means they both kick the verb to the end of the clause.

Why does the sentence start with just Word (without a -t or a subject)?

This is a command (imperative form). To give a command in Dutch, you use the bare stem of the verb (no -t ending) and drop the subject pronoun. The sentence literally translates to "Become not angry!"

The English translation says "Don't get angry". Why doesn't Dutch use the verb krijgen (to get)?

In English, the verb "to get" has many different meanings. When it describes a change in state or emotion (meaning "to become"), Dutch always uses worden. You only use krijgen when you physically receive or acquire something, like a letter or a gift.
