Learn Dutch: Het netwerk van voorzieningen is erg belangrijk voor de buurt. - The network of facilities is very important for the neighborhood.

This lesson is about using steeds for progressive change. How would I change this sentence to say the network is becoming 'increasingly important'?

You would replace erg belangrijk (very important) with steeds belangrijker (increasingly important / more and more important). The sentence would become: Het netwerk van voorzieningen wordt steeds belangrijker voor de buurt. Notice that it is natural to also change is to wordt (is becoming / is getting) to emphasize the ongoing change.

Voorzieningen translates to 'facilities,' 'amenities,' or 'services.' In a neighborhood, this refers to the practical things that make the area livable and functional, such as schools, supermarkets, public transport, clinics, or parks. The singular form is de voorziening.

What is the difference between de buurt and de wijk?
