Just like in English ("I am resting next week"), Turkish uses the present continuous tense (-iyor) for fixed future plans. The time phrase gelecek hafta (next week) makes it completely clear that this is happening in the future.

Does "gelecek" always mean "next"?

Gelecek literally means "coming" or "future" (it comes from the verb gelmek, to come). So gelecek hafta literally translates to "the coming week". You will see it used a lot for future time phrases, like gelecek ay (next month).

Why isn't there a word for "a" or "the" before "toplantı"?

Turkish doesn't have a direct translation for "the", so it is understood from context. While you could use bir to say bir toplantı yok (there is not a meeting), it is much more natural in Turkish to drop it and just say toplantı yok to mean "there are no meetings" or "there is no meeting".
