Why is it hablemos with an "e" instead of hablamos?
This is the present subjunctive form of hablar. For regular -ar verbs in the subjunctive, the vowels swap to -e. So, the normal present tense hablamos (we speak) becomes the subjunctive hablemos.
Why do we need the subjunctive in this sentence?
The verb desear (to desire/want) expresses a wish. When you state a wish using que (that) and there is a new subject for the second action (from "I" in deseo to "we" in hablemos), Spanish requires the second verb to be in the subjunctive.
What does convivencia literally mean?
