Questions & Answers about Los astronautas construirán una base en otro planeta.
How do we form the future tense in construirán?
For the regular future tense, you do not chop off the end of the verb like you do in the present tense. Instead, you keep the whole infinitive word (construir) and add the future ending to the very end. Since the astronauts are a they (ellos), we add the ending -án to get construirán. Notice that almost all future tense endings have an accent mark!
Why is it otro planeta and not otra planeta?
Even though planeta ends in the letter a, it is actually a masculine noun. It is one of a few special words (like el problema or el mapa) that end in a but are masculine. Because it is masculine, it needs the masculine adjective otro.
Why is there no word for 'an' before otro planeta? Should it be un otro?
Does los astronautas mean that all the astronauts are men?
