Esas means "those" (for things at a medium distance). It has to match the noun it goes with in both gender and number. Since tienda (store) is a feminine word and we are talking about more than one, we use the feminine plural form: esas.

I always mix up the verbs for "to know". Why is it conoces here and not sabes?

Spanish has two verbs for "to know". You use conocer (which becomes conoces for "you know") when talking about being familiar with a place, person, or thing—like knowing a store or a city. You use saber when you know a fact, information, or how to do something.

Why does it say tiendas de ropa instead of putting the words in the same order as "clothing stores"?

In English, we often put a noun like "clothing" right before another noun to describe it. In Spanish, you usually connect them with the word de (of). So, instead of "clothing stores", you say "stores of clothing" (tiendas de ropa).

The word ciudad (city) doesn't end in -a. Why is it feminine (la ciudad)?
