Why is there no word for "to" between queremos and ver?
In English, we say "want to see". But in Portuguese, when you use querer (to want) followed by another action, the second verb is used in its infinitive form (the basic dictionary form). Ver already means "to see", so you can put it directly after the conjugated verb: queremos ver (we want to see). No extra connecting word is needed.
Do I have to use Nós at the beginning, or could I just say Queremos ver o carro novo?
You can absolutely drop Nós! Because the verb form queremos is only ever used for "we", it is already obvious who is doing the wanting. Portuguese speakers often leave out subject pronouns like nós, eu, and tu unless they want to add emphasis.
Why is it carro novo instead of novo carro?
In Portuguese, adjectives (describing words) usually come after the noun they describe. So, instead of saying "new car", you say "car new" (carro novo).
How would this sentence change if we wanted to see a new house (casa) instead of a car?
