How does szłaś mean "you were walking" when the dictionary form is iść?
The verb iść (to walk/go on foot) is highly irregular in the past tense. Instead of looking like the infinitive, it uses the stem szł- for feminine subjects. When you add the feminine "you" ending -aś, you get szłaś (you were walking). If you were speaking to a man, you would use the masculine form szedłeś.
Why is the word for "with" ze here instead of just z?
