Why does rozmawiamy end in -my?
The dictionary form (infinitive) of this verb is rozmawiać (to talk), and it belongs to the -m/-sz conjugation group. For verbs in this group, you drop the -ć to get the base rozmawia-, and then add -my for the 'we' form.
Since the English translation says 'we are talking', why isn't there a word for 'are' before rozmawiamy?
Polish doesn't have a separate 'present continuous' tense like English does. You don't use the verb to be (być) to say you are doing something right now. The single Polish word rozmawiamy translates to both 'we talk' (regularly) and 'we are talking' (right now).
Why is the word My (we) at the beginning, but not repeated before rozmawiamy?
