Why does it use faccio parte instead of sono parte to mean "I am part"?
In Italian, the standard expression for "to be a part of" or "to belong to" a group is far parte di (literally, "to make part of"). This is why it uses the verb fare rather than essere.
Why does un'associazione have an apostrophe?
The word associazione is a feminine noun. The feminine word for "a/an" is una, but when it comes right before a vowel, it drops the final "a" and adds an apostrophe. Remember that masculine words starting with a vowel just take un with no apostrophe!
Why is it just di volontari and not dei volontari?
Using just di describes the type of association it is (a volunteer association). If you used dei (which combines di + i, meaning "of the"), it would sound like it belongs to a specific, known group of volunteers.
