Questions & Answers about Questo libro non è nuovo, ma è facile.
Does ma work exactly like "but" in English?
Where is the word for "it" in the second half of the sentence?
Both nuovo and facile describe the book, so why does one end in -o and the other in -e?
Italian adjectives fall into two main groups. Nuovo belongs to the group that changes its ending to match masculine/feminine and singular/plural. Because libro is a masculine singular word, it uses the -o ending. Facile, however, belongs to a different group of adjectives that naturally end in -e in the singular. They use that same -e ending for both masculine and feminine words.
Why is the negative word placed before the verb (non è)?
