Why is déjà placed directly between the auxiliary verb and the past participle?
In French, short and common adverbs like déjà, bien, and toujours are almost always placed between the conjugated auxiliary verb (avons) and the past participle (vu) in compound tenses. This is a strict rule in French, whereas English is much more flexible with where words like "already" can go.
Since nous is a plural subject, why doesn't vu have an -s at the end?
When using the auxiliary avoir in the passé composé, the past participle (vu) never agrees with the subject (nous). It only agrees with a direct object if that object comes before the verb.
