Why is it à l' here and not au, since aéroport is masculine?
Even though aéroport is masculine, it starts with a vowel. In French, when a singular word starts with a vowel (or a silent 'h'), you use l' instead of le or la. Because of this, à and l' stay separate as à l' rather than combining into the single word au.
