Why is the verb avons used here?
Avons means "have" when paired with nous (we). It is the "nous" form of the irregular verb avoir (to have). Because avoir is highly irregular, plural forms like avons, avez (you have), and ont (they have) just need to be memorized.
How do you pronounce the spaces between Nous, avons, and un?
You connect them! Normally, the S at the end of Nous and avons is silent. But because the next words start with vowels, you pronounce the S as a "Z" sound that jumps to the beginning of the next word. This linking is called a "liaison".
