Questions & Answers about در صورتی که تعهد داشته باشید، سرپرستی سگ را میگیرید.
Why does the verb after dar surati ke look different from a normal present tense verb?
The phrase dar surati ke means 'provided that' or 'in case'. Because it sets up a hypothetical condition rather than a stated fact, it requires the verb in its clause to be in the subjunctive mood.
If the first verb is in the subjunctive, why doesn't it start with the usual be- prefix?
The verb dâshtan (to have) is a special exception in Farsi. Instead of adding a be- prefix, its subjunctive is formed by combining its past participle, dâshte, with the subjunctive forms of 'to be', which in this case is bâshid for 'you'.
Why is the object marker râ placed after sag instead of directly after sarparasti?
The direct object of the sentence isn't just 'guardianship', but the entire phrase 'guardianship of the dog' (sarparasti-ye sag). In Farsi, the specific object marker râ must always be placed at the very end of the complete noun phrase, after the ezafe connection.
Why is the second verb migirid (you get) in the present tense if receiving the dog happens in the future?
Just like in English ('you get guardianship'), Farsi commonly uses the simple present tense in the result clause of a conditional sentence to describe a future outcome or a logical certainty.
