There are two subjunctive verbs in a row here (اجازه دهند and نخوابم). Why is that?
In Farsi, when you link verbs together in a chain of desires, permissions, or obligations, each dependent verb takes the subjunctive form. The main indicative verb is متقاعد میکنم (I convince). You convince them to do what? To let you (اجازه دهند). And they let you do what? Not sleep (نخوابم). Both dependent actions require the subjunctive mood.
How do we form the negative subjunctive for "not sleep" (نخوابم)?
Normally, the present subjunctive starts with the prefix بـ (be-), like بخوابم (be-khâbam - that I sleep). To make it negative, you drop the بـ and replace it with the negative prefix نـ (na-). So, it simply becomes نخوابم (na-khâbam - that I don't sleep). You never use both prefixes together.
Why does the sentence use خود (khod) for "my" parents instead of just attaching the ending ـم (-am)?
خود (khod) is a reflexive pronoun meaning "oneself", but it translates to "my", "your", "his", etc., depending on the subject of the sentence. Since the subject here is "I", والدین خود (vâledeyn-e khod) means "my own parents". You could absolutely say والدینم (vâledeyn-am) instead, but using خود is a very natural and common way to show ownership when referring back to the subject.
Why is the direct object marker را (râ) placed after خود (khod) rather than directly after "parents"?
The word را (râ) must come at the very end of the entire noun phrase it marks. The complete specific direct object here is "my parents", which is built with the ezafe linking the noun and pronoun: والدین خود (vâledeyn-e khod). Therefore, را sits at the end of the whole phrase, not just after the main noun.
