Questions & Answers about این پروژه باید فردا انجام شود.

How does bâyad relate to the lesson's focus on gharâr ast?
Just like gharâr ast (it is planned/supposed to), bâyad (must/should) is an impersonal expression. This means it has a fixed form and doesn't change to match the subject of the sentence. Both expressions also require the main verb that follows them to be in the present subjunctive mood.
Why isn't there a ke (that) after bâyad like there often is with gharâr ast?
While you will often see ke used to link gharâr ast to the subjunctive part of the sentence (e.g., gharâr ast ke...), bâyad is followed directly by the rest of the clause. You never use ke immediately after bâyad.
Why does this sentence use انجام شود (anjâm šavad) instead of انجام دهد (anjâm dahad)?
انجام شود is in the passive voice. The active compound verb is انجام دادن (to do / to complete), while the passive equivalent is انجام شدن (to be done). Because the project cannot act on its own, we use the passive form to say the project must be done.
Wait, if انجام شود is in the subjunctive mood because of bâyad, where is the be- prefix?
You can absolutely say انجام بشود (anjâm bešavad), and it would be perfectly correct. However, with compound verbs formed with شدن (šodan), native speakers very often drop the subjunctive be- prefix. Both versions mean the exact same thing.
