Questions & Answers about کدام آلبوم را خریدی؟ دیروز داخل مغازه دیدمش.
How does دیدمش mean "I saw it"? Where is the word for "it"?
The word دیدمش (didamash) is made of two parts: دیدم (didam) meaning "I saw", and the pronoun ending ـَش (-ash) meaning "it" (or him/her). Instead of using a separate word for "it" alongside the verb, Farsi speakers very often just attach ـَش directly to the end of the verb to act as the direct object.
Since ـَش (-ash) is the direct object "it", why isn't there a را (râ) in the second sentence?
The object marker را is only used after independent nouns or standalone pronouns (like آن را). When you use an attached pronoun ending like ـَش to show the direct object, it replaces both the separate pronoun and را. You never put را after these verb endings.
Why is را (râ) needed after کدام آلبوم (which album) in the first sentence?
The question word کدام (which) makes the noun specific—you are asking about a particular album, not just any album. Because "which album" is the specific direct object of the verb خریدی (you bought), it must be followed by را.
How do we connect داخل (inside) and مغازه (shop) when speaking?
You use the invisible connecting vowel "e" called the Ezâfe, pronouncing it dâkhel-e maghâze. In Farsi, position words like داخل (inside), زیر (under), or روی (on) act a lot like nouns and need the Ezâfe to link them to the place that follows.
