Questions & Answers about او سلیقهی شما را خیلی دوست دارد؛ همیشه دربارهاش صحبت میکند.
How does the word دربارهاش translate to "about it"?
This is made of the preposition درباره (about) plus the attached pronoun (enclitic) اش (it/him/her). Because درباره ends in a silent ه, an ا (alef) is added before the ending in writing to keep the sounds distinct (dar bâre-y-ash). Here, the اش refers back to "your taste".
Why is there a ی at the end of سلیقهی?
The base word for "taste" is سلیقه (saliqe), which ends in a silent ه. To connect it to شما (you/your) with the ezâfe vowel (acting as "of"), we need to bridge the two vowel sounds. In writing, this is shown by adding a ی (ye), making it سلیقهی شما (saliqe-ye šomâ).
Why does the object marker را come after شما instead of right after سلیقه (taste)?
The word را marks the entire specific direct object. Because the complete object being liked is the whole phrase "your taste" (سلیقهی شما), the marker را must wait until the very end of that phrase.
The second half translates to "she always talks about it." Why isn't the word for "she" (او) repeated?
In Farsi, you can drop the subject pronoun once it is obvious from context. The first half establishes that او (she) is the subject, and the third-person verb ending ـد on میکند confirms we are still talking about her, making a second او unnecessary.
