Questions & Answers about من یک کتاب جدید اینجا پیدا میکنم.
The verb here is two words: پیدا میکنم. How does that work?
This is a compound verb, which is very common in Farsi! It is made of a non-verb part (پیدا, meaning found or visible) and a helper verb (میکنم, meaning I do). Literally, you are saying I do found, which translates to I find.
Why is the prefix می only attached to the second part of the verb?
In compound verbs, the prefix می, which shows the present indicative tense (actions happening now or regularly), only attaches to the helper verb. The first part (پیدا) stays exactly the same, so we say پیدا میکنم.
Why is it کتاب جدید instead of جدید کتاب?
In Farsi, adjectives almost always come after the noun they describe. You also need to connect them with a short e sound called the Ezafe. Even though it is not written in the Persian script, you pronounce it as ketab-e jadid.
Why is اینجا (here) placed right before the verb?
Farsi puts the main verb at the very end of the sentence. Words that show location, like اینجا, usually go right before the verb. So the sentence order is: Subject (I) + Object (a new book) + Place (here) + Verb (find).
