Compound Verbs for Daily Life
Most everyday Persian actions are compound verbs: a noun or adjective plus a light verb such as کردن, دادن or زدن. Only the light verb conjugates — the first part never changes.
| Persian | Meaning |
|---|---|
| کار کردن | to work |
| نگاه کردن | to look, to watch |
| باز کردن | to open |

Doing, Cleaning, Talking
Note the different light verbs at work: انجام میدهم (I carry out) uses دادن, and حرف میزنم (I talk) uses زدن — the same pattern with a different helper.
| I do my work. | کارم را انجام میدهم.kâram râ anjâm midaham. |
| He does his work. | او کارش را انجام میدهد.u kârash râ anjâm midahad. |
| I clean my room. | اتاقم را تمیز میکنم.otâgham râ tamiz mikonam. |
