Questions & Answers about We kunnen misschien morgen komen.
Why is komen at the very end of the sentence?
When you use a modal verb like kunnen (can) in Dutch, it takes the normal verb position (second place in the sentence). The main action verb, which is komen (to come) here, gets pushed all the way to the end in its full dictionary form (the infinitive).
Why is it kunnen and not kan?
Because the subject is We, which is plural. For singular subjects like ik (I) or hij (he), you use kan. For plural subjects like we, jullie (you all), or zij (they), you use the full plural form kunnen.
Could I start the sentence with Misschien? How would that change the word order?
Doesn't morgen also mean 'morning'? How do I know which one it is here?
